Certain experiences have helped me to acquire and develop the skills and approaches that I bring to my sessions.
I have completed the official level 1 training for IFS, which taught me the theoretical and practical skills required to safely explore clients’ internal systems using the model. A big part of our training is getting to know our own inner system of protective parts and understanding how to be aware of them from an open hearted space so that we can lead therapeutic sessions with curiosity, compassion and connection. Ongoing work with my own IFS therapist also helps me to further deepen the connection I have with myself, which in turn helps me as a practitioner..
Prior to this training in internal family systems, I trained as a social worker in the UK where I learnt to use frameworks such as person centred care and relationship based social work. Practicing in this way taught me to really listen to my service users so that I could connect with them, understand their needs and find the best solutions for them.
I came to social work with a fair amount of support work experience via residential care, supervised contact sessions and a helpline for children of alcoholics, where a gentle presence, a non-judgemental stance and active listening skills were developed and practised.
I’m currently continuing my training in IFS in order to become certified as a practitioner and
I am working under professional supervision as I build my experience.
I offer supportive sessions within a therapeutic relationship, where you can
explore your thoughts, feelings, and life challenges in a safe, respectful space. My approach is
grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a belief that everyone has the ability to grow and heal.
I work in a way that’s safe and based on what I’ve been trained to do.
My work is best suited for people going through the kinds of emotional ups and downs that many of
us face — like feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure about the next step in life.
I also support those who are looking to grow, reflect, and feel more at ease in themselves.
I am not currently equipped to work with severe or complex trauma, and I’ll always let you
know if I believe a licensed professional would better support your needs.
Note: I’m not a licensed mental health professional. My sessions are supportive and not a
replacement for psychotherapy or medical care.
